PRP with Microneedling
What is PRP (platelet rich plasma) therapy?
PRP is found in your blood which is obtained from a simple office blood draw and spun down to isolate this component rich in natural growth factors which function to heal injuries. PRP has been featured in the media for its application to treat sports injuries in professional athletes. However, it also has the potential to rebuild and rejuvenate the skin including the face, vagina and scars.
What is microneedling?
The technique of microneedling utilizes the controlled delivery of microscopic needles into the top millimeters of your skin’s surface. This stimulates new production of collagen and elastin while also creating channels for topical treatments such as PRP and serums.
How are PRP (platelet rich plasma) and microneedling therapy done?
After the use of numbing cream, targeted treatment areas, such as your face or your vagina, are treated with the microneedling device and PRP application. Treatments take about 30 minutes and may cause some initial pinpoint bleeding and redness. Typically 3-6 treatments are recommended, each spaced about 1 month apart.
We use the FractoraTM device by INMODE which is a microneedling tool which also delivers radiofrequency energy through the tips to further promote skin tightening and resurfacing.
